Hi.

I’m supposed to welcome you to cometherevolution.org. It’s not much to look at yet (or really, not much to read yet), but we’re hoping it will bulk up in the coming months. The plans for this blog include a resource list, a lot of links to other useful blogs, some bits about our lives and experiences as we work towards living more simply, and hopefully some guest posts from our awesome friends. We’re trying to live in a continually-more-conscious way, and wanted to be able to share that with the world and keep ourselves in check at the same time. So, selfishly, a lot of this blog will be for our own benefit.

I’m not using the royal “we.” There are two of us. We are Amanda and Cian- a 20-something couple, fresh-faced from college/university and taking on our student loans while trying not to compromise our morals. We’re readers, we’re nerds, we like the dirt, we want to be farmers when we grow up (Cian refuses to believe that he is grown up), we think goats are awesome (Amanda will provide lots of cute pictures of goats here), and we’re relatively sustainability minded. We live in DC right now, but are originally from rural new england and  the new york metropolitan area, respectively. That means that we argue a lot over baseball (she’s for the Sox, he’s for the Yankees), and one of us has a pronounced accent when intoxicated. It also means we have somewhat opposed ways of looking at a lot of things, which we hope to employ for your entertainment.

So, welcome. If you’re interested, stick around — and tell us what’s on your mind in the comments.

Goats in a bucket just seeing what the stylesheet is like. I’d like to know if this format has text-wrapping. I’m also wondering what the border style looks like. Of course, in order to see any of that I’ve got to make this paragraph really, really long, so that the text extends below the image. To accomplish that… um… did you know that I still have most of the Gettysburg Address memorized from the 5th grade? “Four score and seven years ago, our fathers brought forth on this continent a new nation, conceived in liberty, and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal. We are now engaged in a great civil war, testing whether that nation or any nation so conceived and so dedicated can long endure. We are met on a great battlefield of that war…”
